Hi,

While I was dieting, I avoided some very beneficial medications because of the possible side affect of weigh gain. HRT is one of them. Even though I have bad hot flashes and the emotional stability of a teenager losing weight has been more important to me. So Now I have had surgery, should weight gain from medication still be a concern? I had a hysterectomy in 2005, 11 years of hot flashes with no relief in sight. One thing I dont understand is if weight gain after a hysterectomy is hormonal wouldn't fixing those hormone issues help with weight loss? Are there people out there losing weight after surgery while on HRTs?

Please help.
